Sts. Peter & Paul Cathedral The Sts. Peter & Paul Cathedral, established in 1806, is set in historic downtown St. Thomas, offering Roman Catholic services. Having gone through many restorations after having been destroyed by fire, it is one of St. Thomas’ main religious entities. All normal ceremonial strictures are applicable. 	The Jewish Synagogue Established in 1796, the Jewish Synagogue sits on Synagogue Hill in downtown St. Thomas. One of its unique characteristics is its sand covered floors which were used to muffle the singing and praying sounds of practicing Jews. All normal ceremonial strictures are applicable. Frederick Evangelical Lutheran Church Frederick Evangelical Lutheran Church was established in 1666, the same year that the Danish West India Company took formal possession of the island of St. Thomas. With its history dating back to the 17th century, it is St. Thomas’ oldest religious structure. All normal ceremonial strictures are applicable.
